The Perfect Braided Style for Every Prom Queen

Braids are a major hair trend this year both casually and on the red carpet. This blog will show you how to stay on trend while giving your prom hair a twist to fit your personal style.

For the sassy Boho Queen, a loose-thick braided crown is perfect! Pair the braid with a head full of relaxed curls and your bohemian princess is sure to turn into a queen. This style is sure to look great on any queen but would look especially perfect with an earthy, intricately beaded, floor length, flowing ball gown!

The “faux side shave” braid is perfect for the queen who wants to put an edgy twist on elegance. This style was all over the red carpet this year on the edgiest of celebrities (i.e. Cara Delevingne). When paired with a dark two-piece gown with a lacey bodice this style is sure to rock at any prom and leave everyone’s jaws on the dance floor.

Channel your inner Elsa, this braid is absolutely amazing for prom! It’s the best of both worlds; pulled back and stays out of your face but you still get to show off the hair you’ve been desperately trying to grown out all year… or the extensions you just picked up from your local beauty shop. Either way this braid is a must! Of course this hair looks perfect with an ice blue long sleeved gown, but it can also be paired with a bright mermaid style as well!

If you’re a queen that doesn’t want to do the “all out glam, red carpet ready” routine for prom, this style is for you! Throw some sexy curls, braid a thick part of the forward most section of your hair, add some tease and secure the braids in the back of your head. Voila! You are ready! This style is simply put together but still gives you an elegant look that seems like it took forever, even though it took 30 minutes. You could wear this style with virtually any dress!

Sock buns are also a huge To-Do for prom this year! Adding a braided accent to the base of your bun is a perfect way to incorporate two trends into one style without being “that girl” who is trying to do too much at once. If your dress is super embellished on top or has a high neckline this would be a great choice for you because it will not take away from your dress but you still get to do something special and fun with you hair!

You can find something to satisfy any style at RaeLynn’s where the prom specialists will help you find your dream dress that can be paired with one of these fashion forward hair styles!
