8 Hot Summer Hairstyles to Beat the Heat

by RaeLynns Boutique June 17, 2015

With all the wonderful things that come with summer also come challenges, what to do with your hair?! Summer heat and humidity are a major obstacle on the mission to have that good-hair-day that everyone is constantly chasing. Here are a few options and inspirations for your summer “do” to help you beat the heat!

Braided Pony

Adding a braid to a pony is the perfect way to add detail to a simple look. You get all of the benefits of a pony tail and a braid all in one! No sticky hair and you get to embrace a messy-er look, which is perfect for humid summer days.

Top Knot

The top knot is a total hit this year; it is cute, chic, and easy! It is perfect for that day 2 or sometimes even day 3 hair (we know you girls are out there). Top knots can be all up, or you can put a twist on the “Ariana Grande” and do a half-up top knot. This “do” is a great way to pull your hair out of your face and look like a chic mess rather than a hot mess.

Everyone knows that braids are the go-to hairstyle for summer. This looks puts an original spin on that mainstream look and promotes the texture that the humidity will inevitably give you.

Messy Sock Bun

“Put a sock in it!” Messy sock buns are the perfect way to look put together without having to put forth a lot of effort. Just roll your pony tail up in a sock and pull the pieces to loosen them up, then.. VOILA! You can make this look super casual or dress it up, you can pick! But no matter how you chose to rock this look, you going to stay super cool on those hot days!

Beachy Waves

Beachy waves are another great look when it come to humid weather because the more loose and textured your waves look, the better. Though texture in this case is a good thing, you don’t want an afro. Make sure when doing waves you still use hair spray and your choice of texture spray. This style can be worn anywhere with anything.

Braided Bangs

Who better to impersonate their summer hairstyles than the queen of California, Lauren Conrad. More often than not you can see LC sporting some sort of braid in her hair during summer time, and for good reason! Braided bangs are the perfect way to pull your hair out of your face while still having the option to keep your hair down, not to mention all the different options that come along with choosing the style of your braid.

Headband bun

This look is quick, easy, and painless (for you tender headed girls)! All that you have to do to achieve this look is throw a headband around the outside of your hair and roll your hair into it! This look is easily transitioned from sleek to messy, the more loose and textured you make your hair the more boho your look becomes!

Head Wrap Scarf

Head scarves are making a comeback this year! They look great with any style of hair (up, down, or even incorporated into a braid). With cute head scarves like seen in this photo you are sure to be the boho queen of the summer season. It is the perfect way to add pattern to a simple look.

Don’t forget that whatever you choose to do with your hair this summer, stay true to your personal style and let these looks inspire you to make it your own. Remember Be-YOU-nique!
